It's been a long road...... For the last three years, Rio Films has been in production on our first natural history film documenting the ecology and research of California sea lions in the Channel Islands off California. And in that time, we have had lots of adventures filming at seven of the eight Channel Islands including San Nicholas Island, filming a sea lion surgery, getting up-close and personal with pups at the Pacific Marine Mammal Center, filming great white sharks at Guadalupe Island in Mexico, shooting from helicopters and planes, working with the famous Sake the sea lion at the Moss Landing Marine Labs and recording the voice over for "Sea Lions" with Hollywood actor Sean Astin.

We will be using "Sea Lions" as an educational and fundraising tool for schools with our "Oceans to the Classroom" program starting in the Fall of 2005. Audiences nation-wide have been educated and entertained by this amazing film and we look forward to traveling to other locations around the county.
Rio Films is also proud to announce that FilmAid International has deceided to use "Sea Lions" to aid, inspire and entertain refugees world-wide. Such rehabilitation is an integral part of the philosophy of FilmAid International, a non-profit organization that premieres inspirational and educational films in the refugee camps of East Africa, (and previously in Afghanistan and Kosovo) to relieve the stress and psychological trauma of the residents. The next project....... Project number two for Rio Films will be the first documentary film about the Channel Islands National Park and Marine Sanctuary. We are currently in production of the film at this time and we plan to finish near the end of 2006. We are currently in postproduction on a feature length film entitled Island of the Seals due to be release in the Fall of 2006.
